This course aims to raise awareness of the principal concepts of Intellectual Property Rights- Policy and Management and its importance as a spur to human creativity and the advancement of economic and social development. It also provides explanation on the development and implementation of an IPR strategy including the management of intellectual property (IP) in an online environment. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, it deals with the different types and systems of IP protection and the various mechanisms by which IP can be used to generate revenue.
It also allows students to learn how IP enhances competitiveness, and provides guidance on how to incorporate IP- based considerations into business strategies and how to defend strategic IP assets.

The course aims to develop the business perception and attitude of students, cultivating the skills necessary to identify and evaluate innovative business 'opportunities' and put them in touch with the basic functions and structure of a corresponding business. Students will establish business groups and choose a business idea, which will then develop. During the semester, specific aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation management will be addressed, with direct application to the work of the student groups.
